Lady Gaga will be in many places at once this Halloween. According to the National Retail Federation, the Lady Gaga costume in many different forms is one of the more popular costumes that people are seeking out.
With costume ideas up 6,696% this month on Yahoo!, searches reveal that 2010's top searched celebrity Halloween costume is Lady Gaga. Coming in second is Michael Jackson, and Katy Perry takes the third position.
You can probably guess which Lady Gaga costume was most popular. According to NYDailyNews.com, Gaga's meat costume which she wore to the VMAs last month will be a big hit.
The National Retail Federation says Americans are expected to shell out $5.8 billion on the upcoming holiday, or an average of $66.28 per person. That's up from $56.31 in 2009 and comparable to the $66.54 spent in 2008.
"This year, people are expected to embrace Halloween with even more enthusiasm and will have an entire weekend to celebrate, since the holiday falls on a Sunday," said Matthew Shay, president and CEO of the National Retail Federation.
Still, 30 percent of consumers say the state of the U.S. economy will impact their Halloween plans, with most citing they will spend less overall, according to the federation's recent survey.
