Leighton Meester, first known for her role in Gossip Girl, will be presenting at the Golden Globes on January 16. Her new movie, Country Strong, debuted this weekend where she starred alongside Gwyneth Paltrow and Tim McGraw.
The star has recently let on about the difficult break up with Gossip Girl co-star Sebastian Stan. The two had dated for a long time and quietly ended the relationship. Without naming names, Leighton told OK! Magazine Ive only had one experience where it was really hard and I was really sad when it ended.
She also added, But thats what taught me a lot about myself and love and lifeand thats good.
In Country Strong, Leighton plays an up and coming country singer, but this isnt the first time she displayed her vocals. She released Somebody to Love in 2009, a pop song. But just because she can sing pop music doesnt mean she didnt need help to tailor her vocal chords to a country audience. She apparently had Taylor Swifts producer.
Leighton also released a music video promoting one of the films songs.
The film had strong competition this weekend, leveling with Season of the Witch, and trailing True Grit and Little Fockers.
