Leonard Nimoy Recovering From Abdominal Surgery
Leonard Nimoy is having his share of health problems, which is the reason why he didn't show up at the Carpenter Performing Arts Center in Long Beach, Calif. According to his publicist, the U.S. actor is recovering from a minor benign abdominal surgery, TMZ reported Friday.
His representative told TMZ Nimoy is "recovering beautifully" from the surgery for "a minor, benign, abdominal condition," said a statement released by the Center. According to Gather.com, Nimoy was scheduled to appear at the university in an event titled "An Evening With Leonard Nimoy."
Nimoy, 79, is best known for his iconic portrayal of Mr. Spock in the "Star Trek" television and film franchise. TV Guide voted Nimoy as being one of the "50 Greatest TV Actors."
No other details about the operation or what prompted it were reported on the Web site.
