Lily Cole, the 22-year-old British supermodel, has been pondering leaving modeling to act.
Models pining for acting careers -- it's not an entirely novel concept. However, it is rare that a model is so successful in her new pursuit that she can leave her prior career behind.
Cole says she's close to bailing on the fashion industry.
The famed redhead starred in The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus alongside Heath Ledger.
The Cambridge University student says she owes much of her talent to former co-star Health Ledger. Cole reveals she came close to giving up on the film when Ledger was found dead of a prescription drug overdose in January 2008. His role was taken on by three other actors - Jude Law, Colin Farrell and Johnny Depp.
Cole is now adamant her days as a full-time model are at an end, because her future lies in Hollywood, reported aceshowbiz.com.
Id like to act and not really model so much. I wouldnt want to treat acting as a convenient thing to do now and again. Ive been modeling for years and I feel like Ive taken out of it what I need to and Im ready for new things. Ive really enjoyed the process of acting and Id be more inclined to dedicate my time to that, said Cole.
Her acting career went on hold after Marilyn Manson's Phantasmagoria: The Visions of Lewis Carroll was shelved indefinitely for violence.
Viewers were left shocked after disturbing clips from The Phantasmagoria: The Visions of Lewis Carroll hit the internet, with the 22 year old appearing as Alice in a story about the Alice In Wonderland author.
Studio bosses have since decided to shut down the entire project, which was directed by goth rocker Marilyn Manson and also starred Tilda Swinton.
