Liza Minnelli to Be Honored in New York City

Liza Minnelli is set to be honored in New York City.

NY officials announced that they will honor the stars 65th birthday by declaring Saturday March 12, Broadway Day in Minnellis honor.

The Cabaret star caused a ruckus in New York on Tuesday when she participated in a ribbon-cutting ceremony for tourism company Gray Line New York. The singer was inducted into the city's Ride of Fame, and now has her own double-decker tour bus with her photo and signature. The company will now begin offering tours of the city in the Minnelli bus.

David Chien of Gray Line New York said, "Liza Minnelli is New York, plain and simple. She embodies the attitude, talent, style and pizzazz of this great city and shows the rest of the world what real New Yorkers are made of."

Minnelli told ContactMusic.com, "Welcome to New York, New York. If you made it here, you can make it anywhere. My beloved city welcomes you and yours. Get ready, here we go!"
