Madonna sent Christmas presents to orphans in Malawi hoping it will brighten the holidays.
The singers reportedly sent 25,000 orphans clothes, toys and candy. The gifts came bearing a handwritten note which said, "To my Malawi children on Christmas and Boxing Day. I wish I was with you. See you soon, M."
The gifts were sent to six orphanages in Malawi, Africa. It is the home country of Madonna's adopted daughter Mercy and the focus of one of Madonna's charities, Raising Malawi. Madonna founded the charity with the goal of ending poverty in the landlocked region.
Along with the generous gifts, Madonna also funded a party at one of the orphanages where over 1,000 people from the surrounding villages came to celebrate with the orphans and underprivileged children.
