Melissa Etheridge has moved on from last year's split with wife Tammy Lynn Michaels. Etheridge has found a deeper connection with "Nurse Jackie" creator Linda Wallem. Both 50, Etheridge and Wallem have been best friends, but are now moving to the dating phase.
"Melissa and Linda have been best friends for over 10 years. They got together after Melissa and Tammy broke up," a source said.
When Etheridge married Michaels in 2003, Wallem was reportedly Etheridge's "best man."
Etheridge and Wallem attended the Emmys together last August. Now that the two "are in a committed relationship," according to the source, "they're happy."
Etheridge and Michaels filed for divorce early last year. Despite a legal battle that involved finances and custody of their 4-year-old twins, Johnnie Rose and Miller, all situations have significantly improved.
"Everybody really is in a better place now," the source said.
