Michael Douglas: Throat Cancer, Divorce? Bring it On

Michael Douglas is battling throat cancer, but his ex-wife just wont let him rest. Lawyers representing the two argued in a New York court Tuesday over Diandras claim that shes entitled to half his earnings on his new movie, Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps.

According to ContactMusic.com, the 65-year-old Academy Award-winning actor refused his ex-wifes offer to postpone the court case, despite his medical situation.

Both lawyers have called the opposing side very greedy, and Douglas has been compared to his character on screen, Gordon Gekko.

My client is not greedy, said Nancy Cemtob, Diandras lawyer. The exact opposite is true. Mr. Douglas is seeking to shirk his financial responsibility that was entered into when he signed this contract.

The star of "Wonder Boys," "The Game," "Basic Instinct," "Wall Street," "Romancing the Stone" and "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest," has two young children with his current wife, actress Catherine Zeta-Jones. He also has an adult son, Cameron, from a previous marriage. Douglas is to undergo eight weeks of radiation and chemotherapy to treat the tumor in his throat.
