Michelle Duggar, the mother of 19 children and one of the stars of The Learning Channel's '19 Kids and Counting,' has suffered a miscarriage.

Michelle and her husband Jim Bob, as well as their other 19 children, told E! News they are saddened by the loss of what would be their 20th child, but that she is resting and feeling well physically.

Michelle, 45, and her husband went in for a routine check-up Thursday and were excited to learn the gender of the child, but instead found out it no longer had a heartbeat.

She said the most heartbreaking moment was having to tell their other children the news, after just the night before they had been discussing names for the new arrival.

It's not the first brush with difficult pregnancies for Michelle. The couple's youngest child, Josie, was born two years ago at just 25 weeks. Michelle underwent a C-section and other difficulties during that birth. She also suffered one other miscarriage, a boy, shortly after her oldest son Josh was born. The couple has said before it was then she stopped using oral birth control.

That miscarried child, a boy, was named Caleb, and Michelle and Jim Bob said they plan to name the miscarried 20th child, as well as have a funeral service.

Michelle told People that her children are mothering her and taking care of her while she is recovering.
