Michelle Obama To Sit Down with Gayle King

Michelle Obama is scheduled to appear live on the Gayle King Show, according to Hollywood Reporter.

In the April 19th appearance, Obama will team up with Dr. Jill Biden to discuss their project supporting military families, Joining Forces Initiative. On Thursday, the first lady urged U.S. companies to hire more servicemembers and their spouses as part of the initiative.

Gayle King, whose new talk show has been running since the beginning of 2011, is a close friend of Oprah Winfrey and is the editor of O, the Oprah Magazine. In 2006, she started a talk show on XM Satellite radio bearing the same name as the TV show.

Mrs. Obama is also scheduled to appear along with her husband, President Barack Obama, in a joint interview on The Oprah Winfrey Show one week later, Hollywood Reporter says. It will be part of a fond farewell to the daytime show, which will come to its conclusion later that month after 25 years on the air.

President Obama has recently launched his 2012 reelection campaign and will likely be looking for other similar events at which to endear himself to the public.
