MTSU Shooting Suspect in Custody

The Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) shooting suspect is in custody, reports the Associated Press. According to Lt. Jim Fangey, police caught the suspect in the school's aerospace building and the weapon was confiscated.

The campus was put on lockdown Monday morning after one person was shot on campus. TheStreet.com reports that an argument between two men escalated, resulting in one man shooting the other in the hand. The suspect then took off.

The campus issued an alert, warning students, faculty, and staff to remain indoors. Meanwhile, the shooting victim was taken to a local medical facility.

The names of both parties involved have not been released.

The lockdown on campus, with the exception of the aerospace building, has since been lifted.
