Neva Patterson Dead at 90

Neva Patterson has died at the age of 90 from complications stemming from a broken hip, said daughter Megan Lee. She passed away at her home in Brentwood, Calif.

Patterson was known for her role in the 1957 tearjerker An Affair to Remember as Lois Clark, the fiance of Cary Grants character. According to daughter Megan, She just loved the fact that she kissed Cary Grant the first day on the set. She really loved Cary Grant.

Another well known role for Patterson was that of Eleanor Dupres in the hit mini series V, and its sequel V: The Final Battle. Megan added that the role generated a large number of fans who continued to write and visit Patterson until very recently.

Before appearing in feature films, she was a veteran on Broadway. She created the role of the wife Helen in the original cast of The Seven year Itch.

All in all, her career added up to more than 100 film and television roles, often as a glamorous socialite or the overbearing matron later in her career.

Patterson is survived by daughter Megan, son Filippo Quaretti-Lee, six grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
