Nikki Blonsky Okay Being Typecast In Fat Roles

Nikki Blonsky, famous for her role in 2007s Hairspray, says shes okay being typecast as the overweight female character.


I honestly think Hollywood is getting real. Theyre saying hey this is what a lot of America looks like, a lot of America doesnt wear a size 2, Blonsky told ShowbizSpy.com.


Along with her work in Hairspray, the 22-year-old actress is also famous for her role on the ABC show Huge, which centered around a group of overweight teens at weight loss camp.


Ive recently had an experience, where Ive been given a complete ray of light, and I have a film coming out called Waiting for Forever, she said told ShowbizSpy.


When I auditioned for it, it was a role written for a young married mom, and I auditioned for it and they gave it to me. It wasnt a role written for a plus-sized girl. I was like wow! I got a role that wasnt for a plus-sized girl, she stated.


Blonsky also recently took to her Twitter to say wants a spot on the popular Fox show Glee:
