Nursing Home Lobby Hit By Falling Crane

Nursing home decisions may be made easier thanks to a little help from the federal government.

The lobby of a Louisiana nursing home was hit by a construction crane Monday, injuring a worker but no residents.

The crane crashed at 10:20 a.m. on the lobby of The Oaks, a retirement community operated by Willis-Knighton Health System, the Associated Press reports.

One employee was taken to the hospital for possible injuries, health spokesman Charlie Cavell tells The Times.

Cavell says another crane must be brought in to remove the toppled one from the building in Shreveport, the Associated Press reports.

The complex includes a nursing home with a health center, assisted living apartments and an independent living apartment complex, according to the AP.
