Pauly D better watch out at the Shore.
According to an announcement by MTV, the Jersey Shore star has landed his own MTV spinoff series, beating out castmates Snooki, The Situation and JWoww (as of yet, nothing has materialized from their own spinoff negotiations).
"At the heart of Jersey Shore is the unique and genuine cast and Pauly D. truly embodies both qualities," Chris Linn, Executive Vice President of Programming and Head of Production for MTV, tells UsMagazine.com in a statement.
Although no details have been released about what the new series will be about, the announcement comes after DJ Pauly D (real name: Paul Delvecchio) filmed a pilot in September with 495 Production, the masterminds behind Shore. The pilot has been reported to revolve around Pauly D traveling across the country for his deejaying gig.
"He's distinguished himself onscreen as the fun-loving, well-coiffed and dependable guy you can't help but want to hang out with," said Linn.
"We know viewers are curious about his life away from the shore, and we look forward to exploring new possibilities around that."
Season 3 of "Shore" begins Jan. 6.
