Phil Spector, famed music icon, is credited with producing his wifes debut CD. Spector was convicted last year in the 2003 shooting death of actress Lana Clarkson. The producer, now 70, was given a 19 to life sentence.Spector is known for producing music for the Beatles, the Ramones, Cher, Ike and Tina Turner, and many other stars in the music business. He is also credited for working on classic songs such as Youve Lost that Loving Feeling and Be My Baby. The Associated Press reports that Spector met wife Rachelle in 2003, but did not know she was an aspiring singer and did not hear her singing voice until after they got married in 2006. Rachelle, 30, says that when she first met Spector, she did not know about his reputation nor about his arrest for the Clarkson shooting death.Rachelle has remained at Spectors side throughout the difficulties she has stayed committed to believing in his innocence, and takes the 2 hour trip up to Corcoran from Alhambra to visit him in prison.Spector says that he produced the album in the three years before the trial, in response to doubts about his contributions to the CD 'Out of My Chelle'. Being able to produce the CD for Rachelle was one of the greatest experiences of my life, he said.In March, Spector asked a California appeals court to grant him a new trial. He is hoping to get out of prison in four or five months.
