Prince Harry, who will head to the United States for military training, is reportedly heading to Las Vegas for some rest, relaxation and partying, according to the Daily Mail.
The Mail reported Sunday that the Prince, who will start his 12 weeks of helicopter training at a base in California in October, will spend 48 hours in Sin City—likely partaking in gambling and partying.
“It's traditional that guys on his course, which is split between California and Arizona, have a break in Vegas at the halfway point,” a source close to the military told the Daily Mirror. “This is a chance for pilots to let their hair down, kick back and enjoy themselves.”
Despite his dedication to the military life, Prince Harry has a well-known reputation for partying as reported by the Daily Mail last week of his vacation in Croatia, where he was photographed clubbing and chatting with locals.
Prince Harry is slated to start training at a base near El Centro, California and will head to Arizona for his training in piloting Apache helicopters, the Daily Mail reports.
Concerns about his lifestyle outside of the base were doused when military officials backed up his capabilities as a pilot.
"We wouldn't risk our equipment, the safety of Harry, his co-pilot or the team around them if we didn't think he was the best man for the job," one unnamed official told the Daily Mirror. "That's not to say he is perfect -- he struggles with some things, such as the mathematical calculations required when planning his sorties. But he is an immensely talented pilot."
