Project Runway, a hit television series for Bravo has officially begun its eighth season. He hails from Hawaii.April Johnston, 21: She hails from Savannah, Ga., and just graduated from college. Her prom dress was the first garment she ever made.Casanova, 33: He's a fashion designer from New York who would like to design a red carpet look for "Sex and the City" star Kim Cattrall.Christopher Collins, 30: He's a fashion designer from San Francisco who learned sewing skills from his mom.Gretchen Jones, 28: She's the designer and director of Oregon-based MothLove, which focuses on clothing collections with "earthy pieces."Ivy Higa, 30: She hails from Hawaii and New York and is a fashion designer for Ivy h. She says she's too much of a perfectionist.Jason Troisi, 33: He's a landscape designer from Greenwich, Conn. He says his ADD is both a strength and weakness in his design career.Kristin Haskins Simms, 39: She hails from Philadelphia and is an apparel designer, freelance graphic designer and adjunct professor in graphic design.McKell Maddox, 29: She's a fashion designer from Utah who realized she had designer potential in college. She cites favorite designers like Coco Chanel and Jean Paul Gaultier.Michael Costello, 27: He's a fashion designer from Palm Springs, Calif. He cites favorite designers like Elie Saab, Tom Ford, Valentino, Donatella Versace and Basil Soda.Michael Drummond, 31: He's a knitwear designer/freelance stylist from St. Louis, Mo. He's previously worked as a baker, costume designer and clothing salesperson.Mondo Guerra, 32: He hails from Denver and works as a freelance designer. He's held jobs as a piano teacher and teacher's aide, in addition to retail and fashion design work.Nicholas D'Aurizio, 32: He's a handbag designer from New York who studied architecture in college.Peach Carr, 50: She's a freelance designer from Lake Forest, Ill. She's self-taught in design and describes her past awards as "a bunch of blue ribbons at the county fair."Sarah Trost, 27: She's a costume designer from Toluca Lake, Calif. She says she tends to go a little overboard in detail and fabric choice.Valerie Mayen, 29: She's a fashion designer, educator and illustrator from Cleveland.
