The Rolling Stones have dismissed rumors that they are retiring in 2012.
An anonymous source told The Sun, a UK tabloid, that they will launch their farewell tour for 2011-2012, with 2012 marking their 50th year as a band and would work as a natural end to their legendary career.
The source was quoted as saying, The band realize that age is creeping up on them. They want to bow out on top of their game, and not short-change their fans.
However, a representative of the band, as well as guitarist Ronnie Wood, have been reported to say otherwise.
All members of the Rolling Stones are in their 60s and are approaching their 70s. The band formed in 1962, with lead singer Mick Jagger, now 67, and guitarist Keith Richards, now 66, having been in the band since the beginning. The current lineup for the band includes guitarist Wood, 63, and drummer Charlie Watts, 69.
However, age is not a factor in their continuing journey to entertain.
According to Wood, We have all agreed this wont be the last time. Everyones rocking.
