Russell Brand, Helen Mirren to Star in Remake of 1981 Classic "Arthur"

Russell Brand, the 35-year-old English actor-comedian who starred in the U.S romantic comedy Forgetting Sarah Marshall is hitting the big screens again in another romantic comedy. But this ones with Helen Mirren, 65.According to Warner Bros. Pictures, shooting had begun in New York last month on Arthur, a remake of the 1981 classic about a playboy who has to choose between riches and true love.Co-starring Nick Nolte, Jennifer Garner and Greta Gerwig, the film is being directed by Jason Winer, a 2010 Directors Guild Award recipient for the hit ABC comedy Modern Family.Brand stars as Arthur Bach, a man who has always relied on two things to get by: his limitless fortune and the good sense of lifelong nanny Hobson to keep him out of trouble, the movie studio said in a news release. Now he faces his biggest challenge, choosing between an arranged marriage that will ensure his lavish lifestyle or an uncertain future with the one thing money cant buy Naomi, the only woman he has ever loved.The original movie, starring Dudley Moore, Liza Minnelli and John Gielgud, raked in $82 million in U.S. theaters.Brand has won numerous awards for his standup comedy, including the recipient of the British Comedy Awards for Best Live Stand-up. He is currently engaged to U.S. pop singer Katy Perry.
