Sky Metalwala’s recent picture was released by police authorities this week in the continued search for the two-year-old boy who has gone missing since earlier this month.

Newly released photos show a more current picture of the boy as well as his mother Julia Biryukova, wearing the same shirt she wore when she reported her son was missing on Nov. 6. She claimed her son was gone after he was left in an unlocked car for an hour, while she walked for a mile to get gas from a gas station, ABC News reports.

Suspicions remain over the validity of Biryukova’s story behind her missing son. Her car was found to have had sufficient gas and be functioning normally by police. But she stated the boy was left in the car, as he was not feeling well, while she and her daughter walked to the gas stop, Fox News reports.

Biryukova has refused to be interviewed by police in the investigation, which would include searching her home and the neighborhood from where she claimed the boy had disappeared. But the police have yet to arrest her on those grounds, according to ABC News.

The case is still being treating as a missing person case, and not a criminal one. But no further questions such as whether the boy is alive, has been kidnapped or with other family members, has been answered, according to Bellevue Police Maj. Mike Johnson, Fox News reports.

Biryukova’s estranged husband, who is fighting a bitter custody and divorce battle with his former wife, has claimed the mother has previously dreamt of strangling their son, Fox News reports.
