Star Wars 3D is the next best thing Lucasfilm Ltd. has in store for Star Wars fans. Lucasfilm announced Wednesdays that the films will be released again theatrically, but this time in 3D.All six Star Wars films are expected to be released in theaters in 2012. A specific release date set by Lucasfilm and distributor Twentieth Century Fox, has not yet been determined.Supervising the conversion process is Industrial Light & Magic. The results, they promise, will be "cutting edge."According to Telegraph, John Knoll, visual effects supervisor for Industrial Light & Magic said a proper conversion to 3-D "is a matter of taking the time and getting it right.""It takes a critical and artistic eye along with an incredible attention to detail to be successful," Knoll added. "It is not something that you can rush if you want to expect good results."
