Steve Blake Gives Lakers the Win
Steve Blake hit the winning 3-pointer with 18.8 seconds to play Tuesday in the Los Angeles Lakers 112-110 win over Houston.
Blake, who spent last season with Portland and the Los Angeles Clippers, came off the bench to score 10 points, including the final bucket off an assist from Kobe Bryant.
During the preseason, Clippers backup center DeAndre Jordan had praise for his former teammate. "Our first game together, he found me for three lobs. We hadn't even practiced together," Jordan told the LA Times.
"He has a real good niche of finding people and building chemistry with guys. That team (Lakers) already has a real good bond, so he'll fit in well," Jordan said.
Clippers guard Eric Gordon told the newspaper that adjustment "was easy for him."
"We had a lot of guys who could score. He was just picking his spots where he would hit an open shot or create for somebody."
