Tasya van Ree is becoming one of the most searched for women on the web after the reveal at GLAAD's 25th anniversary bash that she is the partner of 24-year old "Pineapple Express" actress Amber Heard. "She's so beautiful," Heard said of Ree. "I mean, you'd have to be crazy not to want to go out with her!"
While the couple has been an item since 2008, their appearance at the bash held in honor of the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation was a coming out party of sorts. But while many are familiar with Heard's work in films such as the aforementioned "Pineapple Express" and the Karate Kid-styled "Never Back Down," fewer are familiar with her partner.
Tasya van Ree prefers to hide behind her work, as one can see from a visit to her website, TasyavanRee.com. On the "About" page, in fact, she can be seen doing just that. A clear shot wasn't revealed of her until the red carpet photo that is making its rounds on the Internet Monday, where she stands alongside Heard following the announcement.
An artist and photographer in California, Tasya van Ree specializes in dark and evocative photographs that are sold as art. One such picture is of a beautiful woman in an evening dress standing in the center of a graveyard. Another finds a blonde bombshell coming out of what appears to be a bomb shelter on a sunny day.
Yet another consists of what are primarily dark scribblings on yellow paper of what appear to be a child's drawings. The versatility of van Ree's work is the emphasis with no mention of her relationship with Heard, save for the aforementioned picture on the website's blog.
