Tina Fey was honored Tuesday night as the youngest and only the third woman to win the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor.
The former SNL headwriter certainly showed she was deserving of the nations top humor prize when she gave a speech seeped with her trademark humor and witty one-liners that backhandedly thanked Sarah Palin and also attacked right wing women.
Feys impersonation of Palin won accolades during the 2008 presidential elections and she mockingly credited the former Alaskan governor for her success.
I would be a liar and an idiot if I didnt thank Sarah Palin for helping me get here tonight. My partial resemblance and her crazy voice are the two luckiest things that have ever happened to me, Fey said, to roars of laughter.
Fey also criticized the sudden increase of conservative women politicians, saying that the surge was only a positive thing for women unless you dont want to pay for your own rape kit . . . unless youre a lesbian who wants to get married to your partner of 20 years . . . [or] unless you believe in evolution.
Fey currently is the writer and star of the critically acclaimed NBC series, 30 Rock. She is a feature voice of the current No. 1 movie in American, the animated film Megamind, and is working on her memoir.
