Tropical Storm Gaston was moving slowly over the central tropical Atlantic, forecasters said. Gaston, with sustained winds of 40 mph, was about 965 miles west of the Cape Verde Islands and about 1,550 miles east of the Lesser Antilles, the hurricane center said. The storm was moving west at 9 mph.Forecasters said Gaston could gradually strengthen during the next two days. No watches or warnings were posted for Gaston, the center said.
