Mobile telecoms company Vodafone has reported a 14 percent fall in profit for the six months ending Sept. 30 compared with a year earlier, when the bottom line was boosted by gains on an asset sale.
Vodafone reported that net profit for the period was 6.6 billion pounds compared with 7.5 billion pounds when the company had a one-time gain of 2.4 billion pounds from the sale of its interest in China Mobile.
Revenue was up 4 percent to 23.5 billion pounds.
Vodafone shares were up 2.7 percent at 177.55 pence in morning trading on the London Stock Exchange.
