Weight Loss Pill Burns Calories of a 40 Minute Jog

German-developed drug Nuratrim promises to burn calories faster than any other weight loss supplement.

The weight loss pill Nuratrim promises to burn a record amount of calories, and officially went on sale in the United Kingdom Tuesday. According to Britain’s The Daily Telegraph, Nuratrim burns 15 times more calories than most diet pills, or 380 more calories per day.

The pill is made from natural ingredients like liquorice extract, capsicum extract, green coffee extract and dietary fiber glucomannan. More than 50,000 orders of Nuratrim were filed in advance of its release to the British public.

“Nuratrim is the most advanced and effective weight loss aid available today,” said German creator Alfred Hasslebacher. “It has been devised to assist all men and women looking to lose excess weight and control their appetite.”

The pill works by using green coffee extract to break down the fat in food and to speed up digestion. Simultanesouly, the glucomannan absorbs up to 200 times its weight in water, keeping the stomach full and cutting back on the impulse to snack between meals.

Together, that makes for a metabolic rate increased by 35 percent. Appetite is reduced by about 78 percent, and 20 percent more fat is burned throughout the day. During clinical trials of the drug, 90 percent of study participants lost a minimum of 14 pounds over an eight week period without changing their natural diet or lifestyle.

The U.K.’s Daily Mail, however, reports that the study involved only 65 patients of normal weight. Information about its effect on obesity has not yet been gathered. Doctors have also warned against pills that allow rapid weight loss.

Nuratrim was released in the U.S. in October, and has been used by celebrities such as Jennifer Lopez and Kim Kardashian.
