Wendie Malick turns 60 on Monday, and she talked with People magazine about what she thinks about aging.
Aging is not scary, Malick told the magazine, and Betty [White] is the greatest example."
Malick currently stars alongside White in the sitcom Hot in Cleveland. The show centers around three past-their-prime entertainment industry veterans from Los Angeles whose lives are changed when their Paris-bound plane instead lands in Cleveland, Ohio. In Cleveland, they find a welcoming community that is less shallow, youth-obsessed and weight-conscious than L.A., and where one of them leases a home with a sassy caretaker.
Women don't have an expiration date," adds Malick. "[Turning 60] could be a bit daunting. I wasnt sure how I would deal with it. But now I feel like I'm just hitting my stride. It's all good great husband, great friends, good life."
Malick adds that life can be celebrated at any age.
"I think we've all come to the realization that it's sweeter the third and fourth time around," says Malick, "or for Betty, the 20th time around."
