William Shatner Meets Controversy With "$#*! My Dad Says"

William Shatner has played a captain to a starship, a veteran attorney, and now hes going to be an average elderly dad. Okay, maybe not so average. After all, no elderly dad is really "average."

Shatner will be starring in a new CBS sitcom, "$#*! My Dad Says, a show inspired by a Twitter feed. He plays the role of Ed, a 72-year-old dad, whose son, a struggling writer and blogger, must move back with him. The show will focus on the father-son dynamic between the two.

The show met controversy as the title had to be modified to comply with FCC regulations. Not only was the title censored in text, but will also be pronounced Bleep My Dad Says.

Meanwhile, the Parents Television Council lodged a complaint, asking advertisers to boycott the show unless the title of the show is changed.

Shatner considered the censoring ludicrous, saying, The word sh-- is around us. It isnt a terrible term. Its a natural function. Why are we pussyfooting?

Despite the controversy, the show is projected to be one of this falls hits on television.
