Pat Samples, M.A., M.F.A., is an international speaker, transformational educator and writer who champions a radical new understanding of the aging body and its creative wisdom. Her new book, The Secret Wisdom of a Woman's Body: Freeing Yourself to Live Passionately and Age Fearlessly, has been called "what our generation wants to read" by AARP's magazine. It is a guide to loving our body and reaping wisdom from its vast library of stories as we age.

She is also the author of "Body Odyssey: Lessons from the Bones and Belly," a memoir and guide celebrating our aging bodies as magnificent creative resources brimming with emotional and spiritual wisdom.

More than 300 organizations have hosted keynotes and workshops by Pat on conscious aging, body wisdom, caregiving, improvisational movement and creative living. Pat is also the author of six other books, including "Daily Comforts for Caregivers," and has written widely on health, aging and human behavior. She is a past editor of The Phoenix, a wellness monthly, and the former director of an arts education center. She has also worked as arts educator, aging and caregiving consultant, and hands-on caregiver for organizations serving older adults. Currently, she is a trainer for the National Center for Creative Aging, and she is the director of the Minnesota Creative Arts and Aging Network.

Pat has master's degrees in human development and creative writing. She lives in Minneapolis, where she regularly leads dance improvisation sessions and teaches a course called "Writing Your Own Permission Slip."
