Eggs Are Lower In Cholesterol Than You Thought. A new USDA study shows eggs are actually 14 percent lower in cholesterol than previously thought. But if you still need to keep your cholesterol down, use only the egg whites. They have no cholesterol. Or use cholesterol-free egg substitutes, which are made with egg whites. Eating one egg daily fits easily within dietary guidance, which recommends limiting cholesterol consumption to 300 mg per day.
