Mouth / tongue problems

Mouth / tongue problems

I am 48 and have been in menopause the last couple of years. It started early due to chemotherapy. I am cancer-free now. The last few months I've been experiencing a dry mouth and tongue soreness. There are no sores in my mouth or on my tongue. When I read about burning mouth syndrome it's sort of like that, but not exactly. I know everyone is different, but just wondered if anyone else has experienced this? It's driving me crazy! After having cancer, my first thought was oral cancer, but my dentist didn't find anything in my mouth to suggest that. It still concerns me though. I don't smoke or drink so I'm really not a strong candidate for oral cancer.

I would feel better knowing this has happened to someone else so I can blame it on menopause and stop worrying about cancer!

re:tongue and mouth problems

I have not had cancer and I frequently have a burning mouth. I I notice it most when I eat breads, pastries etc. I also notice it when I drink too much soda. I soothe my mouth with yogurt and /or acidophilus with bifidus. I hope this helps you.
