Swelling
Swelling
I just got my upper teeth pulled and the dentist put my dentures in right away. I was told not to take them out for 24-48 hours because my gums would be swelling and I would not be able to get them back in if I did.
Well, the top part of the denture was rubbing so bad that I did take them out that evening and it has now been 48 hours since I had them pulled the dentures out and I still can not get them back in.
Also on one side of my gums there feels like a piece of bone sticking out and it really hurts when I try to place the dentures in. So I give up because of the pain there and not really sure just how much of it is still swollen.
So my questions are ...
(1) How long does it usually take for the swelling to go down enough so I will be able to put the dentures back in my mouth?
(2) This piece of bone under my gum is that normal and will it get better when the swelling goes down, or will I have to have something done about it?
