  • Joan Rivers The raspy voiced TV personality is known for her brash sense of humor and her many dips under the plastic surgeons knife. But Joan Rivers is also one of the near-44 million women in the US with osteoporosis. In an interview with GotBones, Rivers says that she is doing everything her doctor recommends, such as taking supplements and exercising at least three times a week.
  • Meredith Viera The host of both The Today Show as well as Who Wants to Be a Millionaire is at risk for developing the disease. She says after finding out she had low bone density I dont have it yet, but if I continue to lose bone mass then I could develop it. So she is taking preventative measures that include weight lifting to increase the muscle around her bones, and adding more calcium to her diet.
  • Ursula Andress The original Bond girl, co-star to Sean Connery in Dr. No says she was surprised when she was diagnosed with the disease. This is because she was always in great shape. In an interview with BANG Showbiz back in 2008, she says I was sure osteoporosis wasnt for me, a former James Bond girl who traveled, swam, walked miles every day and who had a beautiful garden to keep up. She says shes not letting the disease affect her life, I cant bear the thought of just doing nothing, or even worse, being stuck in bed.
  • Gwyneth Paltrow This starlet doesnt have the disease yet, but she may be on the way. According to her blog, Paltrow said that her doctors informed her that she was in the early stages of osteopenia, a vitamin deficiency that is a precursor to osteoporosis. Paltrow had to get a bone scan after fracturing her leg earlier this year, which was when doctors discovered that she had extremely low levels of Vitamin D in her system.
