Barack Obama isn't the only baby boomer in the midst of a transition. Whether it's dealing with an empty nest, the end--or beginning--of a marriage; the loss of a parent or the birth of a grandchild, for most of us, mid-life is a time of transition. For some it's marked by a career shift, others it's a time to downsize or make a move toward retirement.
Then there are the physical realities that remind us of our age--achy joints, thinning hair, a little more around the middle, and oh yeah, for women, there's The Change. And just as our bodies are feeling the effects of gravity, our home values are sliding and our 401Ks are shrinking. We're weathering a climate of economic uncertainty that has us battening down the hatches, in hopes of riding out this storm with our jobs and financial security in tact.
So how are handling these turbulent times? With hope or fear? What's it going to be: Midlife crisis or midlife opportunity? You decide. And when you do, drop us a line and tell us about how you're doing, what are you most concerned about in this time of transition. Respond to us and we'll be sure to do the same.
Change is more than just a winning campaign slogan, it's a part of life. And that can be a good thing. It's up to you.
