Prostate Cancey Therapies

Prostate Cancey Therapies

I am very concerned that most men diagnosed with prostrate are not being informed or offered what I consider to be the very best possible treatment.  Proton Beam Therapy!  This is not a new treatment, but the internet is probably the only way you will find out about this option.

This is because most
urologists do not tell you about nor recommend this therapy. Perhaps this is because they either
want to do the surgery(regular, robotic or cryogenic) themselves, or they want you to have external beam radiation or seed implants
in one of their radiological
centers. This observation is based on my experience as well as that of almost every other
patient I met in Florida where I was treated.

To my way of thinking, the only thing that could rule out this choice is that the therapy takes eight weeks, most likely in a place that would be inconvenient for most people. There are only six or seven centers in the US.

On the plus side, the treatment takes only 30 minutes, and you are able to do anything you want with the rest of your day.  There is no pain or any physical restrictions associated with the treatment.  Also, data on the
incidence of side effects including bladder, bowel, impotence problems,
as well as the physical recovery process and the potential recurrence
of the cancer are much better with PBT than any other therapy.

At least explorer this possibility and then make an informed decision based on everything you have learned while exploring options.
