I have been divorced for three years and yearn for the touch of a woman. I'm an attractive man in my mid-40s who has much to offer yet can't get off the ground in the dating department. Most everyone I meet is married, involved or dating. Where does someone like me go to meet available ladies? Please don't say church because this is where I have been focusing my attentions with no success. --J.

Some divorced ladies reading this column would be surprised to know that finding desirable dates could also be a challenge for men. Many women feel they have the exclusive ownership of the "I can't find a partner" dilemma. Even though there seem to be more available women than men, clearly, men need help too!

There are plenty of places to meet women, but being in the "right place" is just one component of meeting "her." Before you go cruising for dates, however, think about the type of woman or women you want to meet.

Know Your Requirements for Ms. Right: Get off to a running start and make your desires more complete by writing down the answers to the following questions:

• What geographic area should she live in?
• What is her marital and family history like?
• Is religion an important factor?
• What is her financial status, her occupation or her level of education?
• What important personality traits should she have?
