Steve Brody, Ph.D., and Cathy Brody, M.S., co-authors of "Renew Your Marriage at Midlife" (PenguinPutnam), are therapists specializing in marital counseling. They have taught couples seminars since 1975 and are here to answer your relationship questions each week.
Steve Brody
is a psychologist reporter for California's KCOY-TV, a contributing reporter for CBS' "Newspath" and frequent guest on such popular talk shows as "Oprah." He was previously a regular contributor to NBC and Fox and received the Russell L. Cecil Medical Journalism Award in 1993 and 1994.
In addition to his TV and radio credits, he's a fellow and past president of the Division of Media Psychology of the American Psychological Association. Steve earned his Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology at Los Angeles in 1978.
Cathy Brody
is a marriage and family therapist and co-creator with her husband of their couples enrichment program. She is also sought after as an organizational consultant, specializing in relationship and communication training.
She was a divorce mediator for the San Luis Obispo Superior Court and supervised family therapists for the Youth Services Program at the University of California at Irvine. She is also past president of the Central Coast Chapter of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists. She, too, has appeared on television and radio, including an October 2000 appearance on "Oprah."
The Brodys currently host a radio show called "Relationships" on KVEC 920 AM (San Luis Obispo, Calif.) every Monday from 6 to 6:30 p.m. They live in California, have been married to each other for the past 30 years and have two sons in college. At 54 and 50 years old, they understand the challenges couples face at midlife.
