Relationships at midlife.
Are the challenges any different? Well, yes and no. The two basic rules of making a relationship work apply at any stage: Either change how you talk to yourself, or change how you talk to your partner.

That said, there are unique challenges at midlife. Menopause, erection difficulties, empty nest and retirement, to name a few. The key here is that when one of you changes, the relationship changes. And if you're in between relationships, coping with those issues also presents unique challenges as you explore new unions with potential partners.

A relationship is like a mobile suspended from the ceiling. Move one piece and the whole thing collapses. Many couples divorce at these junctures because feelings of resentment, abandonment or betrayal are too strong. For instance, your spouse changes careers or grows tired of nurturing you and strides off in a more independent direction.

"How could you do this?" you complain. "I thought we had a deal!" Well, you did, and now you or your partner is ripping up the contract. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to rewrite a new one.

That's where we come in. Our mission is to help you through this. Or to help you on your journey, balancing intimacy and independence on your own or with your partner.

Dante wrote that "Midway along life's journey, I found myself in a dark wood." Join us as we shed some light along the way.
