The Marriage Enhancer

Quality of Life Issues
Changes in material, emotional, and spiritual circumstances challenge many midlife couples to adapt to difficult circumstances or reinvent their marriages.

"Quality of life issues are so urgent now because couples are often dealing with family, professional, and personal transitions that are very serious and complex," says Kent Kinzley, M.F.C.C., Clinical Director of Psychological and Family Services at the Fuller Graduate School of Psychology in Pasadena, California. "Health concerns, reassessing what's meaningful and important, along with planning for the present and future, are the major quality of life challenges facing midlife marriages," he says.

Which statement best describes your quality of life concerns?

We have health concerns.
I'm reassessing what's meaningful and important.
I need to juggle work and family commitments.
We need to discuss retirement and what's next.
