Get Minxed -- and You'll Never Use Nail Polish Again

It's a celeb favorite and the hottest thing to happen to nails in America since acrylics and gels.

Minx nails are the latest rage, with stars like Beyonce and Fergie from the Black Eyed Peas all fans. So if it's good enough for Mrs Jay Z then I figured it was worth a shot.

I went to Medusa in Edinburgh's Bread Street for the treatment and watched as my feet were transformed in about 40 minutes.

The best way to describe Minx is that they are like vinyl stickers from a sticker book. Claire carefully measured each one to check it was the best fit for my toenail.

Owner Claire then showed me a selection of the designs available. I picked the pink leopardskin and after a few minutes of cuticle tidying, filing and buffing my toenails into shape, Claire was ready to begin the treatment.

Then she held held it under a heat lamp until it became pliable and easier to work with. It looks like a tricky job and one best left to the experts but Claire is a dab hand at getting this little piece of floppy vinyl onto your nail, securely stuck downand trimmed and fitted perfectly.

When it came to the smaller toes, I thought she would stuggle, but no -- and at the end of the session my feet looked fabulous.

Minx is great for winter holidays because there is no nail polish involved and you can pull on your socks and shoes immediately after they are applied and head back out into the wintery weather.

There's no waiting around for several layers of polish to dry and no flip flops when it's raining outside.

They last apporoximately four to six weeks and you can swim and bathe as normal with them on. From silver and gold nails to snakeskin, polka dots and even tartan, you can have nails for any occasion. Once you've been Minxed you'll never want to go backto nail polish again.
