How do I enhance my spiritual relationship using the principles of feng shui and the art of placement? -- C.
Dear C.,
Tantra, in the Sanskrit language, means "to weave." This refers to weaving every aspect of our lives together into one reality. In other words, our spirituality is based on everything we do and are in life. Sexuality is but one of the vehicles to this reality.
The art of sexual magic and Tantric sexuality are enhanced by the set and setting of the act of love. By creating beauty, harmony and a clean functional space in which to enjoy our sensual and sexual life, we feed our spiritual side as well as our aesthetic needs.
Feng shui is the practice of living harmoniously with the energy of the surrounding environment and is, in essence, one of the 64 Arts practiced in ancient India. These arts included sexuality, world knowledge, finance, music, dance, the humanities, decoration and much more. Throughout most high cultures of the past, the art of decoration and placement was an important aspect of how life was conducted.
One of the basic tenets of Tantra is the harmonization of the energies of the partners. The connected breath of the couple blends and creates an atmosphere of trust, openness and oneness between the two. Harmonization in the bedroom can, in a sense, be created by the breath of the room.
