Although Halloween is synonymous with kids, costumes, and candy, it's
also the one day of the year when grown-ups get dressed up and let
their hair down . . . and get sexy for their partner. This Halloween,
whether you've been married for 30 years or are planning a romantic
date with someone new, try some of these expert tips for having a super
sexy Halloween.
1. Bake a pumpkin pie to get him in the mood.
According to Alan Hirsch, M.D., a neurologist and psychiatrist and
director of Chicago's Smell and Taste Treatment and Research
Foundation, "The combination of pumpkin pie and lavender was found to
be the scent which most increased penile blood flow in male laboratory
subjects in tests that we conducted." Other guy-stimulating scents
included vanilla and doughnuts. So get to baking or burn some
flavored-smelling candles to set the mood for yumminess.
2.
Give her a box or two of licorice or Good & Plenty candy to get her
in the mood. According to Hirsch, for ladies, cucumber and licorice
were the two aromas which most increased blood flow to the genitals in
women who were tested at the Smell and Taste Treatment and Research
Foundation. (Good & Plenty is flavored with licorice and has a
faint cucumber tinge, as well.)
3. Invite your date to come to
a dinner party dressed as his or her secret desire. (It'll be your
surprise that the dinner party is a private, two-person affair.) Of
course, you should also concoct a secret desire costume for yourself
and wear it! When your date arrives at your place, surprise him or her
with your get-up and a delicious meal that you prepared yourself.
(Hint: Bake that pumpkin pie already, ladies!)
4. Go to bed on
Halloween night clothed only in scent that smells good enough to eat.
Knotty Girl's Drama Queen Marshmallow scented body lotion is a
heady-smelling blend of vanilla, marshmallow and butterscotch and you
can find it at Nordstrom and at KnottygirL.com.
5. Send him a pair of black silk boxer shorts in the mail. Enclose a
brief explanation that this is to be his Halloween costume.
6.
On Halloween night, after the trick or treaters have all gone home and
the kids are in bed, create a romantic ambience. Light candles in your
bedroom, burn incense and draw your partner a bath scented with
lavender or other soothing scents. After the bath, give him or her a
foot massage.
7. Give her a surprise gift of alluring cologne
or perfume to try out on Halloween night. Scarlett, owner of the
eponymous New Hope, Pennsylvania, fragrance and cosmetic boutique, suggests
scents from Comptoir Sud Pacifique or Acqua di Parma. If she likes
Gummi Bear candies, get her Gummi Bear cologne made by Haribo, the
candy's manufacturer! They're all available at Scarlett's Web site.
8. Take a tip from the late Stanley Kubrick's last film and make love with feathered or jeweled masks on.
