The study of more than 1,000 Norwegian and American men discovered that enjoyment rises as you get older, although your performance will fall.
Sexually speaking, the study has separated satisfaction from ability, which is an encouraging way to look at your future prospects as the 50-year-olds beat the 30-year-olds hands-down in the satisfaction stakes.
I don't find that at all surprising. Nor that the only men who equalled the 50-somethings in the satisfaction stakes were men under 20, whose hormones are always at cyclone levels, and for whom sexual experimentation with new partners is a way of life.
It's the 30-year-olds who are bottom of the league, poor things, having to cope with climbing the ladder in their chosen profession and bringing up a young family.
Why Older Is Better
In contrast, by 50, you've probably got as high as you'd like on your career ladder, and you're pretty flush. You've got more time and you know what you like. You know yourself and your sexual tastes and feel comfortable in a long-term relationship.
