Exercise
It might be the last thing you feel like after a stressful day, but exercise is a proven stress-buster.
It's the hormones again -- this time endorphins that come from exercise and make you feel great.
A brisk walk, short run or game of catch in the park with the kids or your friends results in an endorphin boost, increasing a feeling of well-being. Another obvious benefit is the fat-busting power of exercise. Losing weight, if you need it, will undoubtedly make you feel less stressed.
As well as good old-fashioned running about, there are a series of relaxation exercises that can be done quite easily.
Find a quiet place to escape the noise, lie back, breathe deeply and gently tense then relax each part of your body from your toes to your forehead. Just 30 minutes of switch-off time like this will ease away tension.
