I had forgotten how relaxing, and rewarding, it was to get back in the kitchen to prepare my own meals. In recent years I gave in to the habit of eating out, or ordering "Take Out." It was not always pleasant tasting, but it was fast, and filling. Now that I have to budget more closely, I am eating healthier, by buying in season vegetables, preparing my own meals, on the stove, and not using the microwave for a quick-fix.. It is a labor of love because I know everything that goes into each meal I am cooking, and what the benefits are. It is so rewarding to go back to one of the things I know I do . cooking. I am also saving money at because I have estimated the Restaurant price against what it cost me to "home prepare." and the savings is an appreciable difference. Being the satisfied customer I have become I tip myself that generous savings. After clearing away the dishes, and leaving the kitchen in ship shape order, I give myself a "curtesy mint" as I turn out the light and walk away.
