POR99070301 - 03 JULY 1999 - PORTADOWN, NORTHERN IRELAND: A British Army soldier keeps guard July 3, near the Protestant Church at Drumcree in Portadown, Northern Ireland. The British Army has sent in 1,300 troops and created baracades and barbed wire fields to prevent Protestant Orangemen marchers from marching July 4 from the church along the road that leads to the Catholic part of town and the disputed Garvaghy Road. Though the Parades Commission has banned this years march, some loyalists are threatening long-term protests until the decision is reversed and many people are anticipating violence. iw/sg/Sean Gallup UPI

As he was drilling a batch of recruits, the sergeant saw that one of them was marching out of step. Walking up next to the man as they marched, he said sarcastically: "Do you know they are all out of step except you?"

"What?" asked the recruit innocently.

"I said -- they are all out of step except you!" thundered the sergeant.

The recruit replied, "Well, sarge, you're in charge -- you tell them!"
