The Creative Mind: Changes in the 21st Century

I like to think that everyone is creative in some way, shape, or form. Some of us are good talkers, good writers, great artists, or engaged in some other creative endeavor - yet to be described. As a young child, I used to write little stories about -- well, myself. The main character was me. A little girl who was unhappy and lost, and wanted a puppy. I don't remember why I wrote such sad stories. I can guess...there were some unpleasant events that probably painted my world a little darker than it might have been. Nothing earth-shattering - but, when you're three, even minor things can cloud your perception. I did grow out of it. More…

Brain Spillith Over

I like this post by Steve Pavlina called Freeing Mental Ram. His post reminds us that we need to record information to free it from our mental RAM. In other words, if you find that your brain is too full to think creatively - too much is spilling out to let anything in - then maybe you need a new regimen. I have to admit that I have been very late jumping on the journal bandwagon. And really, I am not there yet. Yes, I keep a blog, but I don’t discuss everything in my blog, it is not at all like a journal. To me, my blog is more like a column, where I pick and choose what to share. But we do need a way to capture our thoughts, ideas, and lists. I have tried many methods, and stuck with none. More…
