My Year With Podcasts

In the year since I wrote Listening to Books, I've discovered podcasts and I'm a much better person for it.  I don't mind walking the dog, ironing, or waiting in a doctor's office because I can take out my iPod and listen to a podcast and never feel I'm wasting time.   For commuters, podcasts are a real boon because you can choose what you want to listen to, whenever you want to listen to it.  No longer do you have to be a victim to whatever's playing on the radio. For those of you who don't know,  a podcast is an audio file that you can download to your computer and listen to whenever you want, either on your computer or on an MP3 audio player.  Think of it as broadcast for your iPod, hence podcast.
